Opp: Studio Space - Half Share

I am a glass artist based at Edinburgh Palette looking for another artist to share with. I have a north facing three window studio ( 5 x 5 mt approx) to share between us two. My studio is on the sixth floor with great views over the sea and Fife and a beautiful and clean northern light. All utilities bills included. Ideal for a maker (jeweller, painter, sculptor, potter or another glass artist), as my studio occasionally might be a bit noisy (grinder, hammering) and dusty. It’s not appropriate for a computer or textile artist. I do work at the studio full time Monday to Friday and would like to find a studio mate more focused on evenings and weekends, but I am open to almost anything! If you are interested please contact me via: Email: moladavid@gmail.com Phone: 07783870658

Opp: Volunteer Arts and Crafts Activity Coordinator

Can you run some basic and informal arts or crafts activities for small groups of our clients at Shaw Trust Scotland based on your practice, passion or pastimes? As a volunteer with Shaw Trust Scotland, you will provide valuable help by sharing your skills, interests and time in the form of an activity group for the people who come to us for support. Our Wellbeing Works campus provides health and wellbeing support to around 350 members of your community who, because of a disability, poor mental health or disadvantage can’t find work. Getting a job is important, but even more crucial is having the emotional resilience, the self-confidence and the good mental health to stay in a job. We are recruiting for volunteers to help these individuals manage their health and wellbeing so they are ready, able and have the strength to maintain employment when the time comes. Unemployment can be a very isolating experience and many of our clients struggle with a lack of confidence, structure and social support. Taking up a new hobby or activity allows people struggling with these barriers to develop not only a new skill, but also to gain a routine, meet new people and improve their confidence. All of this enables clients to not only improve their employability, but also their quality of life. We would love to hear from anyone who has a passion that they would like to share with our clients. The main duty of this volunteer role would be to lead and share an activity on an on-going basis with a group of Shaw Trust’s clients. You do not need to be an expert, just happy to share your talent. We are open to suggestions as to the kind of arts or crafts related you can run, get in touch if you think you can support us.
