This workshop will be delivered by Monette Allison, founder of Affirm Arts, who provides a safe space to focus on self-care and make your wellness a priority. Mindfulness and learning combined. Take control of your wellbeing and make 2024 the year you truly put your self-care into practice. Our wellness is vital for thriving in our businesses and careers and for reaching our goals in life. Yet, for many of us, it can often come second place. In this workshop, we have crafted dedicated time for you to connect, reflect and learn how to prioritise your wellness for 2024. For this event, we will guide you through implementing self-care into practice, helping you take leadership of your wellbeing and create a foundation for everything else to improve. The session will begin with a mindful check-in led by Nadine Robinson before Monette guides us through a curated workshop dedicated to your wellness. Jar in Action (SustainAbility) project: Sustainability issues touch our lives in many ways. FUSION, with support from Cognition Art, is running a project where we are asking a variety of people to construct artworks in the form of glass jars and their contents which encapsulate their creative response to the question: What does Sustainability mean to you? The jars submitted will be toured around venues in central Edinburgh, starting with opening event at Edinburgh Sculpture Workshop on 25th of April. Calling all caring creative practitioners! Are you interested in a role that would support a wonderful, friendly, popular young woman to live her best life whilst providing a full-time salary and flexible time and space to do your own creative practice? This role is 2 x shifts a week from 10am to 10.30am the next day including paid sleepovers. It offers you the chance to support someone dearly loved by the community as well as using and developing person-centred approaches and basic therapeutic techniques. We are looking for someone caring, responsible, respectful and considerate. You will have creative interests and be keen to support this lady in basic arts and crafts and in her love of music and dancing. You will also have great attention to detail and be enthusiastic about supporting this young woman in her daily life including going to her classes and activities, seeing her friends and keeping in touch with her family. A full-time salary is provided along with a range of additional benefits including training (on full pay) including enhanced learning in person-centred practice, leadership skills and other bespoke training courses. We are seeking to appoint an experienced individual to the position of Retail Supervisor. The Retail Supervisor will assist the Retail and E-Commerce Manager in supervising a small team of Retail and Information Assistants. Working from the busy Fringe Shop on the Royal Mile, you will assist in managing the smooth running of the shop floor and any other sales location. In addition, you will be required to carry out duties that include assisting with the sale and display of Fringe merchandise; operating the cash and card terminals, monitoring the online shop, cashing up the tills and carrying out stocktakes when required. You will also be part of the team that will be the first point of contact for the general public, participants and suppliers dealing with the Fringe Society. The rate of pay for this post is £12.85 per hour.
