Job: Fashion Photographer Commission

Fashion Photographer Commission: Event Date 27th April 2018 On the afternoon of 27th April the National Library of Scotland will host a fashion show at George IV Bridge, Edinburgh. This will be the culmination of a competition for young designers in Scotland based upon the creative legacy of Muriel Spark. The event will include presentations by six young designers and feature their designs in a runway show with models. The winning designer will be awarded a cash prize to support their career development. We are now seeking a fashion photographer to document the event and to complete a photo-shoot with models in the Library on the same day. We are looking for high quality images to capture the spirit of the event; to support press and media interest in the project; and to supply the short-listed designers with images which they can use to promote their work. We would expect the photographer to be on-site between 1pm and 5pm on the day. The show will run from 2.30-3.30, with a private session for the judges between 2.00 and 2.30. The Library will supply an assistant(s) to support the photographer throughout the event. We would encourage the photographer to visit us before the event and view potential locations within the building. We would like the photographer to supply us with at least 30 digital images. We will not require any prints. If you would like to be considered for this commission please e-mail Andrew McDougall ( with a copy of your CV and a link to relevant images you have taken. Closing date for applications: Tuesday 20th March, 5.00pm
