Creative Edinburgh Awards 2016: The shortlist

The shortlist is in! Celebrating a year of creative endeavour in one of Europe's most vibrant creative economies, we're delighted to announce the 5th Annual Creative Edinburgh Awards shortlistOur awards highlight great ideas, inspired thinking and outstanding creativity in Edinburgh across all platforms and sectors, from process to outcome. With nine awards categories and three nominations shortlisted in each, the 27 people and organisations chosen encompass a wide range of creative activity including architects, choreographers, app developers, cultural producers, creative agencies and illustrators. Highlighting innovative thinking, great ideas and work to be proud of, no matter how big or small, we're delighted to bring to you this year's shortlist... 

 

The City Award
This category is looking for an outstanding creative contribution or activity that has promoted Edinburgh nationally or indeed, internationally, or work that has incorporated or utilised an Edinburgh city space or cultural idea specific to the city.

The Collaboration Award
This category is looking for an outstanding creative collaboration between two or more organisations or individuals.

The Commercial Award
This category is looking for an outstanding commercial creative contribution or activity from an agency, partnership, organisation, collective or company.

The Creativity Award
This category is looking for a one off creative work or initiative, but the judges will have to consider it outstanding to win. Financial gain need not be the primary motivator in this category. In other words, it could simply be 'art' or a creative work undertaken to explore or express new ideas or talent.
