Did you see the exciting news from CE HQ? We’re taking Creative Circles, our monthly meetup, on the road! Throughout 2020, we’ll be popping up at creative spaces across the city, bringing our community together in places they can work, exhibit, rehearse, and more.
One of the biggest requests we get from you is for space, and we love recommending them, but how better to learn what’s available than by experiencing it first hand? Creative Circles On the Road will give you an opportunity to visit spaces, find out what’s on, talk to the people operating them, and build your creative network.
Creative Circles has been a core offering of Creative Edinburgh for years, and we love that you love it as much as we do! With new faces coming in every month, as well as folks frequenting on a regular basis, we never tire of hearing the creative journeys you take and seeing the connection and collaboration that comes out of time spent together.
We’ll be at traditional coworking spaces, buildings at exciting points in their evolution, community hubs, and much loved local spaces. All the folks behind the spaces share our mission: to build our city’s creative community and create opportunities within it. Plus, we’ll be following up these events with digital content that takes you behind-the-scenes so if you’ve still got a curious itch to scratch, you can!
We’re kicking off with our friends and partners at The Fruitmarket Gallery on Tuesday 18th February 2020 at Bookmarket, their home while they redevelop their Market Street space. With an exciting events programme running across the city and a bookshop of expertly curated titles, the team behind the Fruitmarket are always busy. Join us to see the space and find out what they’ve got coming up (it’s going to be good!).
Plus, there’s the added bonus of them being neighbours with the delicious Williams & Johnsons Coffee Co., so you can stick around to get some emails done with a brew in hand!
Whether you’re a freelancer, business owner or anything in between, new environments, new faces and new opportunities can reignite that creative spark. We hope these events will introduce you to a corner of the city that’s new to you and keep you up-to-date first hand on what is on offer in Edinburgh. See you there?!
