Ahead of our upcoming Mass Assembly event, we're running through some of Edinburgh's top art initiatives

On Thursday 26th May, Creative Edinburgh are delighted to be partnering with Creative Dundee to host Mass Assembly- a one day forum exploring the future of collective working. Celebrating the importance of creative networks, from hubs to collectives and clusters, the event aims to encourage cross network introductions, open skills exchange and insightful discussion.

To celebrate, we’ve created a rundown of some of the most exciting Edinburgh based collectives, from studios to movements and everything in between. Read on to find out a little more about the incredible artists inhabiting our city…

ArchiFringe

A contributor led, volunteer run series of events and projects across all artistic fields which aims to highlight the importance of architecture in day to day life.

Behance Scotland

Scotland’s local Behance community which specialises in portfolio reviews and combines industry experts with the freshest new talent.

Coburg House

A former granary turned dynamic creative studio, Coburg House is a thriving hub for artists, designers and makers.

DOK

Originally built to sustain attack from German bombers in World War Two, the DOK building is a soon-to-open artist and community space in the heart of Leith.

Edinburgh Performing Arts Development

A 12 month capacity building project for independent performing arts companies and artists, EPAD focusses on identifying opportunities within the areas of space, support and networking.

Found Collective

An Edinburgh based art collective and band, FOUND’s membership changes and develops over time. Best known for creating an emotional robot band, Cybraphon.

Hidden Door

Palette at St. Margaret’s House

Paradigm

Paradigm is a disruptive collection of electronic artists, combining three dimensional glitch art, virtual reality, interactive light installations, projection mapping and more.

Rhubaba

Rhubaba Studios and Gallery is an artist-run organisation providing space for artists along with an exciting programme of exhibitions and events.

Scot Street Style

Aiming to reinvent the perception of Scotland, Scot Street Style offer promotion and marketing services to brands looking for increased exposure.

SoftBox collective

Summerhall

Tech meetup

Tinderbox Project
