Collaboration and collective thinking are at
the heart of most creative projects. The second in our Glug
Edinburgh series explored the diverse and inspiring world of
collectives; hearing from a service designer, a design
experimenter, two visual artists & a publisher geek. Great wee
blog here about the night from Jo at IfLooksCouldKill www.iflookscouldkill.co.uk/blog/

Sarah Drummond is Director of Snook, a Scottish service
design company making social change happen. Sarah focuses on making
social change happen by re-thinking public services from a human
perspective, challenging the role of design within the public
sector. Prior to being the Director of Snook, Sarah won £20,000 for
a deprived community in Glasgow. 'Get Go' used techniques and
skills adopted from the service design process to create a
co-produced social enterprise that tackled crime. Sarah is
trail blazing where design can add value in the public sector and
is know for her sheer determination to change things for the
better.

Rhubaba Gallery & Studios VIEW VIDEO
HERE
Rhubaba is an artist-run
gallery & studio complex in Leith, committed to generating a
supportive workspace & dynamic platform for local and
international artists. Founded in 2009 as a response to a perceived
gap in studio provision for recent graduates. Rhubaba initially
housed ten graduates from Edinburgh College of Art in a communal
studio and during our first year presented a series of exhibitions
in temporary spaces around the city as well as with host venues
further afield. Rhubaba aims to explore wider debates in
contemporary art by bringing exciting and challenging works to
Scotland, work collaboratively with other artist-led initiatives
and give early-career artists the opportunity to produce new work
in a discursive environment.

Glug is a regular after-work creative drinks and Notworking event for designers, creatives, clients and friends founded by Ian Hambleton & Nick Clement. It's an eclectic mix of people from all creative walks of life; from advertising and graphic design through to fashion and architecture.
